What is CBT therapy?
Cognitive behavioural therapy (also known as CBT for short) is a talking therapy that can be used to treat a wide range of anxiety and low mood issues.
CBT therapy focuses on how different situations trigger particular thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It in turn looks at how our body responds to these situations. These form systems that maintain our Depression and Anxiety issues. In session, we will explore real life situations where your difficulties occur and understand how these are affected and how these also linked to your belief systems. Therapy focuses on changing these systems to more healthy ones.
CBT is very practical and is very different from other styles of talking therapy. We will develop a goal list at the beginning of therapy, and work towards these goals together as a team.
These are skills that will be used in the long-term and can be applied to other challenges that you may face in life. Good therapy is about becoming independent, and CBT focuses on this belief as do we at CBT revolution. CBT therapy is transparent in every regard. Overcoming any issue is challenging, but doing it at your own pace with a little encouragement with someone you trust can make all the difference. We want to empower you as a person, so that you can live the life that you want.
